Circle Sanctuary also keeps in touch with national and international Pagan communities through our email announcement lists, our social media presence, and our membership newsletter.  We provide information and aids to spiritual practice through our weekly podcasts, publications, and online shop.

We also advocate religious freedom and civil rights through the Lady Liberty League and participation in interfaith dialogues. We serve active and retired troops and their families through our military ministries, and we also operate a 20-acre green cemetery.

    October 30 - 31, 2020
    ONLINE via private Facebook Group

Coordinated by Minerva, Messina, Raven, and Aviel

Samhain 2020 is our celebration of the spirals of life and our connections to ancestors.  We spiral in to the centers of our souls and we spiral out to our external selves.  We deepen our connections to our ancestors and with ourselves.  Whether you are preparing for the dark time of the year -- a time for introspection -- or celebrating your outer self and our most sacred Sabbat, join us.  Let's prepare with this reminder that we move in and out of aspects of our lives, of ourselves, of our ancestral connections, and of our families.  This is the perfect time of year to speak about divination, about grief, and to enjoy an Autumnal fire.  Join us as we prepare celebrate our new year, the third harvest, and the dark season in the Northern Hemisphere.

Samhain offerings will be presented in the Samhain Facebook group.  You’ll receive an invitation to the group once you’ve registered for the event.

Celebrating the Seasons: Samhain

  • DSCF1701

    Article by Selena Fox

As October turns to November, thousands of Witches, Wiccans, Druids, and other Pagans across America, Canada, Europe, and elsewhere observe the sacred time of Samhain. Samhain is a festival of the Dead. Meaning "Summer's End" and pronounced saah-win or saa-ween, Samhain is a celebration of the end of the harvest and the start of the coldest half of the year. For many practitioners, myself included, Samhain also is the beginning of the spiritual new year.

Circle Sanctuary Nature Preserve is spread over 200 acres in beautiful southwestern Wisconsin, in gently-rolling terrain called the Driftless Area which was spared from the last glacial period.  The Preserve features rock outcroppings, prairies, forests, oak savannas, wetlands, springs and a stream.

    COVID-19 VISITING GUIDELINES

For the foreseeable future, Circle Sanctuary is CLOSED to all visitors and Circle community members.  This extends to all in-person festivals, full moons, rituals, and Circle Cemetery.

Only core staff are allowed on Circle grounds, to perform office operations and ongoing land & building maintenance.  As we cannot ensure safety or sanitation that might bring risk to an acceptably low level, we must draw this boundary.

We understand the place that Circle land holds in the heart of its community members, and look forward to the day that we may reopen the gate.  For now, we urge adherence to the most current guidelines on reducing spread of this disease.
